Changes to Events in the Area are not noted here. A summary of the latest changes is given at the top of the Diary page. Updates to resources, in particular Dance popularity in the area are made without notice.

• Bring a plate for our End of Season on the 20^th May.

• Have cancelled 6^th May for the elections.

• We have decided to have a few minutes warm up at the start of our nights.
• Changed our main page message, put in that a social club ofmostly beginners, and costs the price of a cup of coffee

• In our 50^th Anniversary Dance we ask for people to apply early so we get good numbers for catering. Listed a couple of problems in Mincicrib, and put links to DanceData from the titles of the cribs.

• Fixed the maps in Events in the Area yet again. The workaround for the last changes by multimap started failing.

• We're still on for 5th February, weather should be okay – then changed to cancel due to snow.

• Fixed problem with maps, multimap had changed its parameters so the red circle wasn't shown

Changes 18^th August 2008

• The 2008 season will start on Thursday 4^th September. Notice put on the home page. Some cleanup preparatory to the new season.

• The 2008-2009 season committee members are now listed in our Contacts.

Changes 1^st July 2008

• Included music from the CD ‘A Tribute to Derek Haynes’ in various lists in Club Resources. This includes ‘The Celtic Cross’ which is on our dance as well as a number of other popular ones we were missing the music for.

Changes 27^th May 2008

• Fixed the colour coding for popularity changes in the dance lists referenced from the Club Resources page.
• Fixed a nasty bug in popularity ratings where I had treated recent events as further away in the current year!
• Improved hardness rating algorithm to use whether a dance is first, last, an extra, or starred as hard in a programme. Future work on hardness will try to use MiniCrib to give an initial hardness rating to the less popular dances as they don't appear often enough in dance programmes for the current algorithm to work well.

Changes 13^th May 2008

• The site is on a new server. Better cache control has been implemented to cut down on unnecessary refetches. With the pdf changes last week it should all work much faster, that should complete the tuning for a while.

Changes 8^th May 2008

• End of Season: Please bring a plate for our End of Season on the 22^nd May.
• The pdf of notices in Events in the Area is now much smaller and loads faster. Monochrome images are stored as black and whie 300 pixels per inch rather than greyscale 150 pixels per inch.

Change 25^th April 2008

• Our AGM will now be on the 15^th May, not the 1^st. Sorry for the late change. 1^st May will be an normal evening and will be taken by Lilias.

Changes 14^th April 2008

• Images of notices in Events in the Area added from now on will be about 50% bigger but will look much better when printed and the OCR (optical character recognition) will be better. (The latest additions are listed at the top of the diary page, and the OCR text can be got by selecting and copying as if the image is text)

• Dance and music lists in Resources updated. Popularity now colour coded according to recent changes. The spreadsheet is removed to stop google trawling though it and it wasn't of general use.
